As expected, the new generation Hyundai Elantra retained the features of the previous model, but received many unique details. Most notable are the redesigned roofline and redesigned rear window that seamlessly merges into the small boot lid. It is these details that at first glance confuse motorists and it seems that in front of you is a 4-door coupe. Compared to the previous generation, the interior is freer. Starting with the basic configuration of Hyundai Elantra, the central part of the torpedo was taken under the 8 ″ display of the multimedia system. According to the manufacturer, the system supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

If you want more, then for an additional fee, they offer to install a digital instrument panel based on a 10.56 ″ touch screen. Thus, the dashboard and multimedia will be visually combined into one screen. It is logical that the spacious space in the cabin has increased not due to details, but due to changes in the size of the body. Changing the base, the new Hyundai Elantra has changed in dimensions:

  • length - 4650 mm;
  • width - 1825 mm;
  • height - 1420 mm;
  • wheelbase - 2720 mm.

Following the appearance and interior, the list of safety and comfort systems for the Hyundai Elantra 2021 received a revision. Starting from the basic configuration, the list includes an emergency braking system, lane control, as well as monitoring the driver's condition. For a separate surcharge, you can install blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control and a couple of additional security systems. The manufacturer also claims that most of the Hyundai Elantra function can be controlled using a smartphone.

The changes also took place in the technical part of the car. Now a hybrid system is installed under the hood, consisting of a 1.6-liter GDI gasoline engine and a modified electric motor. In tandem, there is a robotic 6-speed dual-clutch transmission. The total output of the unit is 141 hp. and a torque of 264 Nm. For convenience, a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 1.32 kWh was placed under the rear seats. The main disadvantage is that the Hyundai Elantra does not provide charging from a home mains.

Official data on fuel consumption has not yet been disclosed. Taking into account the characteristics of the battery and the engine power, the range on one electric traction will be small, and the fuel consumption will be within 4.7 liters per 100 kilometers. Another significant difference between the hybrid Hyundai Elantra can be considered the rear part of the suspension. Instead of the usual beam, the engineers installed an independent mechanism. This added softness and comfort to the novelty.

In addition to the hybrid version of the Hyundai Elantra 2021, the buyer will also be offered an atmospheric MPI unit with a volume of 2.0 liters. Only the variator will work in pair. Over time, the manufacturer wants to present a charged N-version, with a 275 hp engine. and additional supercharging. As previously assumed, the production of the 7th generation Hyundai Elantra will be established in South Korea, at a plant in the city of Ulsan. The first copies of the novelty should appear in dealerships no earlier than the 4th quarter of 2020, that is, at the end of the year, or even at the beginning of 2021. Also, closer to the start of sales, the manufacturer will open a list of complete sets, characteristics and prices.
