The second generation Peugeot 308, which received the factory index T9, was presented in 2013 in Frankfurt and almost instantly became a contender for the title of one of the best cars in the class. This was facilitated by the spacious and functional interior, high-torque and economical engines and, of course, the attractive appearance of the novelty.

In 2017, within the framework of the same Frankfurt Motor Show, the French presented a restyled version of the Peugeot 308 2018, which received a slightly corrected appearance, a new diesel engine (not presented in Russia) and an upgraded 8-speed transmission.

Moreover, along with the regular 308, a special version of the GT Line was shown, which received a more powerful engine and a stiffer suspension, as well as reinforced brakes and reconfigured handling, which allows you to get the maximum driving pleasure.

Inside the company, they do not hesitate to say that the car has become not only more attractive and comfortable, but also more high-tech, but whether this is so, we will find out in the course of our review.

Peugeot 308 exterior

Compared to its predecessor, the new Peugeot 308 has balanced and well-defined proportions, a more aerodynamic body and expressive style.

Frontal part the car received an updated head optics in the form of an ellipse, a slightly modified false radiator grille with the Peugeot logo in the center (moved here from the hood) and an improved front bumper with three massive air intake sections and neat fog lamps.

Stylish and fast-paced profile pleasing to the eye with smooth embossing on the sidewalls, a slightly sloping roofline and a new design of rims.

It is also worth mentioning the low drag coefficient of only 0.28 Cx.

Strict and tight stern retained the striking side lights with three lion-style LED strips, but received a slightly tweaked rear bumper.

The GT Line version can be distinguished by its all-LED optics, dynamic direction indicators, sports body kit and sill trims, as well as a pair of exhaust system “trunks”. In addition, on the body there are additional nameplates "GT Line" and a slightly different design of light-alloy wheels.

The external dimensions of the novelty are:

  • Length - 4.253 m;
  • Width - 1.804 m (including external mirrors - 2.043 m);
  • Height - 1.472 m;
  • Distance between axles - 2.62 m.

The minimum clearance height of the usual 308 is 152 mm, and in the “GT Line” version the car received a lower clearance, but how much “sports version” is lower is not yet known.

Customers are offered a choice of 10 body color options, among which 6 are available exclusively in the "GT Line" modification, as well as 4 wheel rim designs.

The interior of the new Peugeot 308

The architecture of the front dashboard has remained the same and captivates with its laconicism, excellent ergonomics, confident sculptural lines and a large number of broken lines.

Driver's seat The PEUGEOT i-Cockpit features a chubby three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, slightly truncated at the bottom, as well as a stylish and easy-to-read instrument cluster that perfectly combines analogue dials and a digital on-board computer display.

In the central part of the front panel, the manufacturer has placed a 9.7-inch "TV" of the infotainment complex, through which most of the functions and systems of the car are controlled. And just below there is an audio system and a compact block of auxiliary buttons.

Front seats received an optimal filler in terms of rigidity, well-defined ergonomics and well-felt lateral support. Moreover, the seats have a wide range of adjustments and other benefits of civilization. Between the seats of the first row there is a high tunnel, on which the gearshift lever and the electronic parking brake button are hidden.

A comfortable and ergonomic rear sofa can accommodate three passengers, but there is definitely not an excess of free space here.

Trunk volume is 501 liters in the standard position of the rear sofa and 1309 liters - with the rear seats down. Of the pleasant things - a spare wheel located under the raised floor and a repair kit, as well as a hatch for transporting long lengths.

As before, the interior of the new Peugeot 308 captivates not only with the modern and unusual design of the front dashboard, but also with high-quality finishing materials (high-quality fabrics, soft plastics, leather). Immediately, we note that in the "GT Line" version, the interior received a spectacular red stitching on the steering wheel, seats and dashboard, as well as a combined interior trim from Alcantara.

Specifications Peugeot 308 2018

Unlike the European market, in Russia, the Peugeot 308 2018 is represented by only two gasoline units with a distributed injection system, 16-valves and 4 cylinders:

  1. 1.6-liter petrol engine producing 135 "horses" and 221 Nm of rotational thrust available already at 1400 rpm. This gasoline unit guarantees acceleration from 0 to 100 in 9.1 seconds, as well as a top speed of 205 km / h. The average fuel consumption is 6.5 l / 100 km.

The front suspension of an independent type received the usual MacPherson struts, and the rear - a semi-independent complex with a torsion beam, with transverse stabilizers used both on the front axle and on the rear.

Steering is provided by an electro-hydraulic booster, and ventilated front and conventional disc brakes at the rear are responsible for braking.
