The appearance of the Seat Ateca 2020 crossover has made competitors think, as the car is modern, new and with many modern features. Now the manufacturer has decided to update the crossover, adding a diesel engine and a strict Xperience package. According to the manufacturer, the refinement of the crossover did not appear in any way on the exterior details. The designers only added a couple of shades to the Seat Ateca palette, thereby bringing the list to 10 options.
Following the rims, the manufacturer has added variety to the list of rims, and the diameters are available from 16 "to 19". Meanwhile, the base trim of the Seat Ateca 2020 has also improved its trim level. So the list includes LED headlights and dynamic direction indicators. A characteristic feature of the updated Seat Ateca was the model's inscription on the tailgate; the designers simply moved it lower than in the pre-styling model.
According to company representatives, the updated Seat Ateca crossover will go like the 2021 model. The buyer will be offered 4 configurations to choose from: FR, Reference, Style and a completely new, strict version of Xperience. It is this list of modifications that the manufacturer promised at the beginning of the start of the crossover, in 2016, when a prototype of the model was presented in Paris. Externally, the strict equipment of the Seat Ateca Xperience is distinguished by many chrome body parts, additional black inserts on the front and rear bumpers, as well as door sills, arches and doors.
Now let's take a look at the salon of the updated Seat Atek. The first thing that catches your eye is the new multimedia system with 8.25 ″ or 9.2 ″ display (depending on equipment). The dashboard is digital, based on a 10.25 ″ color display. Seat Ateca's comfort systems include a heated steering wheel and heated windscreen. By the way, according to the manufacturer, heated windshield will get rid of ice or snow in just 2-3 minutes.
Under the hood of the updated Seat Atek, 4 engines will be available, three gasoline and one diesel. Gasoline units of the crossover are quite versatile. The most common turbocharged 3-cylinder, 1.0-liter. Power is 110 horses. The second unit, with a volume of 1.5 liters per 4 cylinders, is capable of delivering 150 hp. The list closes with a gasoline unit with a volume of 2.0 liters and a capacity of 190 horses.
The liter unit on the updated Seat Ateka is paired with a manual transmission and front-wheel drive. The 1.5-liter unit is in tandem with a DSG robotic gearbox, dual-clutch and front-wheel drive. As for the top-end unit with a volume of 2.0 liters, it also works as a DSG robot, but the drive is full.
For starters, there was a Seat Ateca diesel engine, a TDI family from Volkswagen. A new 2.0-liter diesel engine, previously the crossover was equipped with a 1.6-liter diesel engine. Depending on the modification of the new diesel engine, the power can be 115 or 150 horsepower. The one that is weaker works in tandem with a mechanical transmission, and the more powerful one can work with both mechanics and robotic gearboxes. The situation is similar with the crossover drive. The weak Seat Ateca diesel will only be front-wheel drive, but the top-end diesel is paired with front or all-wheel drive.
According to various sources, the serial production of the updated Seat Ateca is planned to be established at the Skoda plant in the Czech Republic. As statistics show, since the start of production of the first model, more than 300 thousand copies have been sold. Next on the pedestal of the company should be the updated model Cupra.
