The Panamera family from Porsche is renowned for its power and style. Now the production car will produce 680 horses.

For the first time, the automaker Porsche decided to charge a serial "civilian" car, filling it with a power plug-in hybrid installation. This modification was first presented in the fall of 2016 in Paris, as the second generation under the 4 E-Hybrid marking. Under the hood of such a hybrid Porsche Panamera, they placed a power plant consisting of a 2.9-liter V6 gasoline bi-turbo engine. Its power is 330 hp and a maximum torque of 450 Nm. The electric motor produces nothing less than 136 horsepower, with a torque of 400 Nm. The engines are paired with an eight-speed robotic PDK gearbox.

Now, the S mark has appeared in the family, this is the first indicator that under the hood of the Porsche Panamera, instead of a V6 engine with a volume of 2.9 liters, a new V8 with a volume of 4 liters has been installed. The power of such a unit is now 550 hp, and the maximum torque of the hybrid is now 850 Nm.

The characteristics of the charged Panamera are truly new. The sports car needs 3.4 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h, which is 1.2 seconds faster than the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid and 0.2 seconds faster than the Panamera Turbo with Sport Chrono Package. The maximum speed of the new Porsche Panamera is 310 km / h.

The electric motor draws its energy from a lithium-ion battery with a liquid thermoregulation system. According to the passport data, the capacity of such a battery is 14.1 kW / h, the current is 10A, and the voltage is 230 V. A full charge of such a battery will take 6 hours. If you use a 32A charger, it only takes 2.4 hours to fully charge. As in other hybrid cars, the Porsche Panamera starts to move on electric traction, and when a certain position of the accelerator pedal or a critically low battery charge is reached, the gasoline is switched on. engine. In the case of simultaneous operation of the electric motor with the internal combustion engine, the transmission switches to the Hybrid Auto mode. The battery for a charged Porsche Panamera is enough for 50 km. paths. Fuel consumption in hybrid or combined mode is 2.9 liters per hundred kilometers.

The standard model of the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid will be equipped with composite ceramic brakes, active aerodynamic body elements for improved performance. It will be based on the PASM air suspension, as well as the Dynamic Chassis Control Sport auxiliary system. The Panamera with a long wheelbase will receive a steering system for the rear wheels.

According to all reports, the presentation of new items will take place in March at the Geneva auto show. How much a charged Porsche Panamera will cost is still unknown. The starting price of a hybrid without the S marking costs 107,000 euros in Germany. Obviously, the price for the S-marked model will be several times higher.
