Chinese car manufacturers never cease to amaze with their new products. The first car models did not have the best reputation for quality and safety systems, but the latest generations boast good design and equipment.

The new compact crossover JAC S2 2018 was presented back in 2015 in Shanghai. In comparison with other Chinese cars, the novelty has received a refined and stylish design, a good set of security systems and a rich interior. The first generation was not so successful, as the assembly left much to be desired, but the second generation turned out much better. At first glance, you can't say that the roots of the JAC S2 2018 crossover are Chinese, especially when it comes to interior stuffing. According to the manufacturer, the design of the crossover was developed in Turin, Italy. Let's take a closer look at the new product externally and internally.

The appearance of the Chinese JAC S2 2018 at first bears little resemblance to a crossover, its compact size and style are more suitable for a hatchback. But looking closely, you understand, like other Chinese cars, this model takes design features from other brands and is in many ways similar to the Hyundai ix35, with minor modifications to individual parts.

The center of the optics is occupied by the lenses of the low and high beam, but the direction indicators are located closer to the radiator grill. Rectangular halogen fog lights and LED daytime running lights are installed on the sides of the front bumper. With similar features to the Hyundai iX35, the 2018 JAC S2 designers have made the hood of the crossover. All lines are strict and stretch from the A-pillars to the radiator grille. The central part of the hood is slightly raised, along the perimeter of the hood, the designers have made a small edging, which also emphasizes the sporty and austere style of the crossover.

Often, the wheels are of a much smaller diameter than the body, here they did everything in moderation. According to the standard, JAC S2 2018 is based on 16 ″ alloy wheels with 205/55 tires, for an additional fee, the manufacturer offers to install 17 ″ or 18 ″ wheels. The door handles are chrome-plated, with an elongated sharp shape, the chrome-plated edging at the bottom of the side windows also has separate sharp parts. The upper part of the glass edging and the B-pillars are black.

To emphasize the side of the JAC S2 2018 crossover, the rear-view mirrors were painted in two colors. Part of the rear optics of the crossover was located on the body, with tightened on the side, and the second part of the optics on the trunk lid. To emphasize the style and highlight the JAC S2 2018 at least a little, the designers made a curved line between the feet and the company logo in the center, in the form of a five-pointed star in a chrome edging.

Compared to the original crossover, the trunk lid of the JAC S2 2018 is smaller and, according to the owners, is a little inconvenient when loading oversized cargo. The rear bumper of the JAC S2 2018 is larger than usual. The central part is raised above the main one, and in the lower part the designers have installed an additional insert made of black plastic.

To embellish the style of the JAC S2 2018 crossover and highlight the Chinese origin, the rear fog lights were made vertical with C-shaped chrome edging. In the lower part of the bumper, the reverse gear indicator and the central fog light were also located. Another LED stop indicator was placed in the center of the spoiler, at the top of the trunk lid. In general, the designers of JAC S2 2018 did a good job, balancing the dimensions of the body parts and making the appearance as attractive as possible.

In addition to the pleasant design, the buyer of JAC S2 2018 is offered a body color to choose from:

The seats do not at all resemble cheap Chinese options, but are really made in a sporty style.

Fabric or genuine leather with perforated inserts is used as the material for the upholstery. According to the color scheme, the leather of the interior of JAC S2 2018 can be painted in black, gray, beige or brown, but for the most part it will be offered a black shade. Another interesting step by the designers is the inserts around the interior of the JAC S2 2018. Plastic overlays are installed on the dashboard and door linings, and colored leather inserts on the seats. These inserts can be painted both in the body color and at personal request.
