Since its inception, the British car company Bentley has featured exclusively passenger cars in its lineup, but the situation changed in 2015 when, during the Frankfurt Motor Show, the management of the automaker officially presented the first production Bentley SUV, named Bentayga.
According to the manufacturer, the novelty takes the concept of luxury to a whole new level and fundamentally changes the idea of what a premium SUV should be and, it is worth noting, the Bentley Bentayga is truly one of the most powerful, fastest and most luxurious SUVs in the class.
At the start of sales, the car was offered exclusively with a 6-liter V12 petrol engine developing an impressive 608 "horses", but a year later the line of power units was replenished with the first diesel engine in the history of the company. It was a 4-liter Twin-Turbo V8, borrowed from the charged crossover Audi SQ7, the installation of which allowed to reduce the base cost of the car by an impressive 30,000 pounds (about 2.3 million rubles).

The front of the car is made in the style traditional for the British brand with characteristic round headlights and an almost rectangular false radiator grille. The picture is complemented by the original front bumper, in which round fog lights are effectively mounted.
The profile of the car commands respect, which is facilitated by large side doors, massive wheel arches, large 20-22 inch rims, as well as stylish stampings along the body.
The stern of the crossover is kept in a restrained style, and the most interesting are the taillights, in which the letter "B" is inscribed, and the stylish diffuser with two twin tailpipes of the exhaust system.

The second row of seats can be represented by a three-seater sofa or two free-standing seats, the functionality of which is only slightly inferior to the chairs of the first row. For passengers in the second row, amenities such as reclining travel tables, a separate digital climate control unit, a center armrest and a pair of removable tablets located behind the backs of the front seats are available.
The optional third row of seats is only suitable for teenagers and children, however, otherwise it is not necessary.
The volume of the trunk in the stowed state is 430 liters, and it can additionally be equipped with a retractable chair designed for picnics and outings. Needless to say, the list of options is able to satisfy the wishes of the most demanding and sophisticated buyers, which is only worth the possibility of installing Breitling gold watches, encrusted with precious stones and equipped with an automatic winding function, the cost of which exceeds 150 thousand dollars.

Such a power unit works with an advanced 8-range ZF automatic transmission, thanks to which acceleration from 0 to 100 takes some 4.8 seconds. Moreover, the car is capable of developing a maximum 270 km / h, which looks like something fantastic for a car weighing more than 2.3 tons.
Despite the impressive engine volume and dynamic characteristics, the average fuel consumption of a premium SUV varies between 7.9-8.5 l / 100 km. The power reserve is also pleasing - on one tank (85 liters) Bentley Bentayga Diesel is able to cover about 1000 km, which is 40% more than its gasoline brother.
The Bentley Bentayga is based on the modernized MLB trolley, familiar from the Audi Q7 and SQ7 crossover. Already in the standard version, the car is equipped with air suspension, and as an option, the installation of active stabilizers is offered, which are responsible for lateral stability and counteract body roll. An adaptive electric power steering is responsible for the steering, which changes its characteristics depending on driving style and speed.
Particularly noteworthy is the all-wheel drive system, equipped with a Torsen center differential, which as standard spreads a torque of 40 to 60 to the front and rear axles, respectively. The control electronics boasts 8 preset operating modes - 4 for driving on the highway and the same for driving off-road.
